Carly Kan Named SEC Volleyball Player Of The Week

Junior outside hitter earned third consecutive tournament MVP honor last weekend at Appalachian State Invitational
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior outside hitter Carly Kan (Honolulu, Hawaii) was named the Southeastern Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the SEC office. Kan finished with 72 kills on .299 hitting and earned tournament MVP honors at last weekend's Appalachian State Invitational.
The two-time AVCA All-American starred for Mizzou throughout its trip to Boone, North Carolina, as she tallied 20-plus kills in all three matches. Kan now has six 20-plus kill outputs in nine matches this season.
In the Appalachian State Invitational opener, Kan set a new career-high in kills with 26 against the host Mountaineers. Two matches later, she matched her new career-high with 26 more kills on a season-high .489 hitting against Liberty.
Also against Liberty, Kan produced her fifth double-double of the season with 26 kills and 10 digs. Her outstanding start to the season has led Mizzou to a second-place ranking in the SEC in team hitting percentage (.322).
Kan currently ranks first in the SEC in kills per set (4.67) and points per set (5.22).
