Tigers record highest summer session GPA in recent history
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Men's Basketball has prioritized high achievement in athletic development and in the classroom this offseason, and it has shown in the results. Head coach Kim Anderson's 2015-16 squad has posted one of the program's highest summer session grade point averages in recent history.
"One of our areas of focus for the offseason was continuing our strong emphasis on academic achievement," Anderson said. "I'm proud of our team for matching their effort on the court and in the weight room with their work in the classroom."
This season's Tigers group is additionally the first to record a team GPA above the 3.0 mark in more than five years. Mizzou's 3.08 GPA is a reflection of a collective commitment to success made by the program's student-athletes.
"We're here to educate and graduate young men," Anderson said. "From there, it's about achieving our goals competitively. Our strong summer together as a team has us looking forward to getting things started in the fall."
