COLUMBIA, Mo. - Junior infielder Josh Lester (Columbus, Ga.) tallied two doubles and a home run, totaling a career-high five RBI in the Tigers' (11-4) 10-2 win over Truman State (7-3) on Tuesday night (March 10) at Taylor Stadium. Jake Ring (Ingleside, Ill.) extended his streak of reaching base safely to 15 games, good for every game this season while Brett Peel (St. Charles, Mo.) extended his such streak to 13 games.

Freshman Lake Dabney (Driftwood, Texas) earned his first career win in the midweek contest, and Zach Lavy (Auxvasse, Mo.) hit his second triple of the season, scoring Peel for a RBI. Five different Tigers recorded RBI in the contest as the home squad snapped a three-game losing skid.

The Tigers claimed the early lead, scoring the game's first run in the opening frame as Peel doubled to lead off and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Ryan Howard (St. Charles, Mo.). Truman St. knotted the game in the third, taking advantage of a hit batsman with two outs coming around to score. It was the first earned run of the season charged to Dabney. The tie didn't last long, though, as Lester hit a two-run shot to right in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-1 lead, scoring Howard.

Another hit batsman cost the Tigers in the fourth, as Nolan Gromacki (Smithville, Mo.) plunked a Bulldog that once again scored later, this time on an infield single, to draw the visiting team within one run. Mizzou tacked on two in the fifth, highlighted by Lavy's triple to right that brought Peel in from first. The lead grew in the sixth as Mizzou added one unearned run, taking a 6-2 lead through five innings.

Bryce Montes De Oca (Lawrence, Ks.) made his Mizzou debut in the seventh inning, fanning the first batter he faced en route to a scoreless frame. The Tigers added a run on a RBI single from Brett Bond (St. Louis, Mo.) in the seventh, pushing the lead to 7-2, representing the final score.
