Molly Kreklow Named 2015 USA Volleyball Female Indoor Most Improved Player of the Year

Former Tiger continues to make impact in second season with Team USA
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former Mizzou Volleyball All-American setter Molly Kreklow (Delano, Minn.) was named the 2015 USA Volleyball Female Indoor Most Improved Player of the Year, as announced Tuesday by USA Volleyball.
"We're so proud of Molly as she continues to chase her Olympic dreams with Team USA," Mizzou Volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "She has done a great job with them and continues to be an outstanding representative for Mizzou Volleyball, Team USA and the sport of volleyball across the country. We wish her only the best as the U.S. National Team continues its journey."
Kreklow is in her second season with the U.S. Women's National Team. The Delano, Minn., native moved into the starting lineup early in the 2015 season after teammate Alisha Glass suffered an injury. Kreklow started 20 matches and played in 114 of a possible 162 sets for Team USA this past year.
In her first FIVB event, Kreklow started 13 matches and led Team USA to the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix title. Kreklow earned the event's Best Setter award as she led Team USA to an outstanding .293 team hitting efficiency.
"We threw Molly into the deep end this season," U.S. Women's National Team Head Coach Karch Kiraly said. "Her devotion to our number-one job of learning and improving paid big dividends, as she helped lead USA to a World Grand Prix gold medal, in only her second year with the program. There's so much setters have to learn to compete at the highest international level; she continues to attack that sometimes daunting task, while serving her teammates with humility and caring."
