INDIANAPOLIS - Mizzou swimming junior Michael Chadwick (Charlotte, N.C.) represented the United States at the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool last weekend as the U.S. defeated Europe, 155-107, in the two-day competition at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. At the meet, Chadwick helped the U.S. set a new SCM American record in the men's 400m free relay after a time of 3:05.42.
The Tiger swam the third leg of the winning relay with Josh Schneider and Olympians Nathan Adrian and Matt Grevers (brother of Mizzou assistant coach Andrew Grevers). The quartet bested the old record of 3:06.10, set in 2010. Chadwick also swam the 50m and 100m free events at the event, clocking times of 21.16 and 46.95.
The Tiger junior was one of 17 American men selected to the roster. This year marked the seventh annual Duel in the Pool, held every other year since 2003. The U.S. improved to 7-0 all-time in the competition.
