Kelli Hine Advances in ITA Central Regional Day Two Action

Hine won her second and third round matches Friday to advance through the main singles draw
STILLWATER, Okla. – The Mizzou Tennis continued singles action during day two of the ITA Central Regional in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Friday, Oct. 16. Senior Kelli Hine won her second and third round singles matches to advance to the round of 16 in the main singles draw to lead the Tigers.
Hine opened her day with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Nebraska's Sydney Harlow in the second round of singles action. She then defeated Tulsa's Mahitha Daddireddy, 6-4, 7-5, in the third round to advance in the main draw singles bracket.
Also victorious in main draw action were juniors Cassidy Spearman and Bea Machado Sandos. Spearman earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Makenzie Craft of Arkansas in the second round, before falling 6-3, 6-2 in the third round to Oklahoma State's Viktoriya Lushkova. Machado Santos notched a 7-5, 6-4 win over SLU's Ally McKenzie to open the day but fell to Arkansas State's Shelby King, 6-3, 6-7, 10-5, in third round play.
In consolation singles play, freshman Turner Yates picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over South Dakota State's Tacy Haws-Lay.
After first round wins on Thursday, junior Brittany Lashway and sophomores Brianna Lashway and Clare Raley all suffered losses in the second round on Friday. Brittany Lashway forced a deciding third set before falling 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to Ana Garcia-Navas of Kansas State. Clare Raley also went three sets in a 1-6, 6-1, 6-0 loss to Wichita State's Alexsandra Trifunovic, while Oklahoma State's Kelsey Laurente defeated Brianna Lashway, 6-2, 6-1.
