Free admission to fans donating goods at swimming & diving, soccer and volleyball contests
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Athletics encourages fans to donate goods in support of relief efforts for fellow Southeastern Conference member South Carolina and the university's surrounding area, affected adversely by recent floods and damaging storms.
An incredibly high demand exists for paper supplies, such as plates, bowls, cups, towels, toilet paper and tissue paper, as well as plastic flatware. Fans of the Black & Gold are urged to focus donations on these particular types of items.
All fans donating goods will receive free admission to Thursday's swimming and diving meet vs. Tennessee (Noon) at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, Friday's volleyball match vs. Ole Miss (6:30 p.m.) at the Hearnes Center and Sunday's soccer match vs. Tennessee (1 p.m.) at Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium.
Donations can be dropped off at designated stations outside each facility prior to game time, with members of Mizzou's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) overseeing the collection. Donation stations at Friday's volleyball match will be located on the east and west concourses.
In addition, Mizzou fans wishing to support relief efforts financially can easily do so by phone, sending a minimum $10 donation to the Red Cross by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999. More information can be found at www.redcross.org.
