No. 22 Kentucky Slips Past Mizzou, 4-2

COLUMBIA, Mo. - In a hard-fought match, No. 22 Kentucky pulled out a 4-2 win over the Mizzou tennis team Sunday morning at the Green Tennis Center. The Tigers dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-4 in Southeastern Conference play, while the Wildcats improved to 13-3 and 3-1.
Kentucky earned the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 action. The Commodores got it started after Kirsten Lewis and Edmee Morin defeated sophomore Kelli Hine and freshman Tracy Dong, 8-2 at No. 3 singles. In a tight match at No. 2 doubles, the Wildcats' No. 57 duo of Nadia Ravita and Aldila Sutjiadi pulled out an 8-6 win over sophomore Madison Rhyner and freshman Cassidy Spearman.
The visitors gained a 2-0 edge after taking No. 1 singles, where No. 51 Nadia Ravita defeated senior Cierra Gaytan-Leach, 6-4, 6-4.
A win from Hine over Sutjiadi at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4, brought the Tigers within one, 2-1. Mizzou knotted the score at 3-3 when senior Rachel Stuhlmann posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kelsey Dieters at No. 4 action. The win marked Stuhlmann's second victory against SEC competition this season.
Kentucky went back up 3-2 when Lewis recorded a 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 win over Rhyner at No. 4 singles. The visitors clinched the victory after Stephanie Fox earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Dong at No. 6 singles.
At No. 5 singles, Spearman dropped her first set but stormed back to take a 3-6, 6-3, 3-1 advantage against Caitlin McGraw. However, their match was suspended after Kentucky took the win.
