SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Mizzou tennis team posted a 7-0 sweep over the Wofford Terriers on Friday morning at the Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg, S.C. The Tigers improved to 4-6 on the spring season with the win, while the Terriers fell to 4-4 with the loss.

Missouri easily took the doubles point with wins at No. 3 and No. 2 action. The freshmen team of Tracy Dong and Cassidy Spearman got the Tigers started with a 6-1 win over Taylor Carlson and Kalli Karas at No. 3. At No. 2 doubles, sophomores Kelli Hine and Madison Rhyner clinched the point after dispatching Catherine Martin and Mareli Sanchez, 6-2.

In singles action, Hine put the Tigers on top 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Audrey Coventry at No. 2 play. Rhyner followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Martin at No. 4 singles. Mizzou secured the dual win at No. 5 action, where Spearman recorded a 6-3, 6-3, win over Karas.

The Tigers also won singles matches at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 play to earn the sweep. At No. 1, senior Cierra Gaytan-Leach notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Sarah Evans, while classmate Rachel Stuhlmann defeated Julia Paulson, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 action. Dong closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Sanchez at No. 6 singles.

Missouri returns to the court Friday afternoon when the squad opens Southeastern Conference play against No. 42 South Carolina at 5 p.m. ET. . The Tigers then travel to Gainesville, Fla., for a match against No. 5 Florida on Sunday, March 2 at 1 p.m. ET.
