Mizzou improved to 2-0 in exhibition play with a 77-54 win over UMSL. The Tigers officially open the 2014-15 season on Friday, Nov. 14 against UMKC.
Missouri started Johnathan Williams III, Ryan Rosburg, Montague Gill-Caesar, Keith Shamburger and Wes Clark against UMSL.
Three Tigers reached double figures in the game, led by freshman Montaque Gill-Caesar's 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor.
Sophomore Johnathan Williams III and senior Keith Shamburger also posted double figures with 13 points apiece.
Williams III recorded the only double-double of the game with 13 points and a game best 12 rebounds.
Shamburger dished out a game high six assists without committing a turnover against the Tritons.
Missouri scored 34 points in the paint, compared to just eight for USML.
The Tigers held the Tritons to one offensive rebound in the second half.
Mizzou outrebounded UMSL 22-10 in the second half, after the Tritons held a 23-18 edge in the first half.
The Tigers went on a 16-3 run in the first half to go up 30-28 with 4:31 on the clock after trailing 25-14.
