Redshirt senior transfer guard Keith Shamburger (Los Angeles, Calif) made his first start as a Mizzou Tiger after transferring from the University of Hawaii and playing at San Jose State prior to Hawaii.
After starting 93 games between Hawaii and San Jose State Shamburger tallied eight points, six rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes of action for his first start as a Tiger.
Freshman guard Montaque Gill-Caesar (Vaughan, Ontario) also made his first career start for the Tigers and earned a career-high and team-high 21 points.
Sophomore guard Wes Clark (Detroit, Mich.) had a career day reaching a new career high in steals (6, previous high was 3 vs Florida on 3/14/14) and tying his career-high in points (13, also had 13 vs. SELA on 11/8/13).
Six players saw their first action as a Mizzou Tiger on Friday (Deuce Bello, Tremaine Isabell, D'Angelo Allen, Namon Wright, Montaque Gill-Caesar and Keith Shamburger.).
The Tigers unleashed a 10-2 run in just over two minutes to cut the Roos lead to three with 11 and a half minutes remaining in the second half.
Gill-Caesar helped jump-start the Tigers offense in the second half; contributing 10 points in the first ten minutes and 17 in the entire half.
Freshman guard Tramaine Isabell scored 7 points in 12 minutes of action off the bench, a career-high for the Dallas, Texas native.
Mizzou improved their shooting in the second half shooting 42.4% (14-of-33) after shooting just 33.3% in the first half.
