Mizzou
Robin Pingeton, Head Coach
Opening Statement...
"I think in the second half we finally started to shoot the ball better. We continue to be challenged with our turnovers. In this league when you give up 21 turnovers, and 29 points off of turnovers it is not good enough. Somehow, some way we have to do a better job of hanging onto that ball."
On the last four games since the Tennessee win...
"I think certainly it is frustrating, but I think we are just right there. When break down each game, I think the Mississippi State game we had a letdown. No excuses; that is what happened. We had a hard time responding and following up that win at Tennessee. Then we had Vanderbilt, and I don't think we played bad at Vanderbilt. We had an off-shooting night. We guarded hard. It was a different arena and a different layout. The first time in that facility, I was pleased with our effort and we made great attempts. Arkansas--that was one I was disappointed in. We played hard in the second half, but it is a 40-minute game and they beat us on our home court. I was really disappointed. LSU, this was a team that is right ahead of us. That is the bottom line. There is no secret formula. We are just not there yet, and we have to continue to build a program. "
On why Mizzou is giving up turnovers...
"I think if we could answer that we would. We would make those adjustments. I think there is a little bit of everything. There are some breakdowns in communication, we get too loose with the ball; we make the homerun play instead of the high percentage pass. Some of them are going to be forced, but you can't play the game perfect. There is no way we should have 21 turnovers. We will watch tape and break it down. We will figure out what we have to do differently."

Senior Forward Liz Smith
On her play against taller defenders...
"In the last few days at practice, Coach [Pingeton] has taken me and we've really focused on when I post up, attacking the post player and getting big inside instead of backing into them where they can get position in front of me. Just from that, I think it really gave me a confidence boost, and I know that I can play one on one against these girls. So just with that mindset, I took it to them."
On frustration in overtime...
"When you're playing you just have to go on to the next play and work hard to get that ball back."
On LSU's size in the post...
"Number 23 did a good job. She has really long arms, and she didn't want to foul. She stayed straight up. I probably could have gotten better shot opportunities in overtime, but we play the game to get better."
On frustration from losses after the Tennessee win...
"I think just as a team, we need to get tougher mentally. We're there. I don't know if it's the games or what, but I feel like our practices have been pretty solid. We just need to step up to the plate and take what's right in front of us and not let this slip away from us."
On dealing with the game postponement from yesterday...
"I didn't think the game was going to be canceled, so that whole day I was preparing and when it was [canceled] I was kind of like `okay.' You just have to keep your preparation going and see what you're going to go through in the game. Same kind of routine, just pushed around a little bit."
Senior Guard Liene Priede
On her play today...
"I want to thank all my teammates for finding me when I was open and passing me the ball. And I want to thank all of the coaches that they trust in me and believe I can make my shots."

LSU
Nikki Caldwell, Head Coach
Opening statement...
"Well yesterday we made a lot of snow angels. Our girls were very excited because we don't get a lot of it in Louisiana. Under the circumstances this was a very good basketball game. It was two teams really fighting hard trying to solidify themselves down the stretch in SEC play. Give a lot of credit to Missouri. Robin's kids, they never quit. They play with a lot of fight and a lot of heart and I was equally proud of my team for doing the same. We were able to come away with the win and obviously the game could have gone either way down the stretch."
On difference-maker that gave LSU the win...
"I thought Shanece McKinney. Going back with our size, obviously we never want to have a player go down like Jeanne Kenney who is a great leader for us who also has been battling injuries all year. I thought it was Shanece McKinney that gave us better rebounding and gave us a better defensive presence on the low ball. I thought she had some key defensive plays, but more importantly she made her free throws."
On guarding Liz Smith...
"One thing about Liz Smith is that she kept doing the work before the ball got there. Our post players can take a lesson for how hard she was positioning herself to get two feet in the paint. We just were able to come away with some defensive plays down the stretch and I felt that our size with Kenney and Theresa Plaisance are the same in height, but McKinney has a longer reach and I think they may have disrupted her (Smith) a little bit, but credit Smith's game. She played solid tonight."
On overtime with a short bench...
"Well, we didn't do anything yesterday, so we were a little rested. No, you know when you get to this time of the year and our roster is eight, we've got to be very creative when we call timeouts. We don't extend our defense as much anymore. We're not pressing as much. We're really trying to pick and choose when we substitute and when we can use our bench, but our team hung tough today. I thought we did a good job of managing the clock late game and Adrienne, I don't think she ever gets tired. She did a phenomenal job on guarding Eye, just running around with her. I was getting tired just watching the two run around, but I think when you have players who, we've been small in our number all year with 10, we kind of condition that way."
