
Swimming & Diving Continues Missouri's Succesful Weekend

Columbia, Mo. - On an exciting Saturday for Mizzou sports, the men's swimming and diving team pulled off a win against Drury University in Springfield. The Tigers routed the Panthers in convincing fashion, accumulating 154 points against Drury's 83 points as well as breaking six Breech Pool records.
The Tigers started the meet on the right foot with two relay teams placing in the top three in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. In first place was the team of Sam Tierney, Igor Kozlovskij, Neil O'Halloran, and Joe Hladik in 3:17.82, setting a Breech Pool record. They were followed by the team of Ryan Sellers, Mark Conroy, John Krause, and Alex Glogoza who finished third in 3:22.85.
In the 1000 Yard Freestyle two Tigers placed in the top three. Andrew Phillips finished second in 9:28.53 (improving his top time by just under a second) and Connor Nolan placed third in 9:41.71. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Missouri swept the top three spots. Eegan Groomefinished first in 1:39.65, followed by O'Halloran in second in 1:40.14 and Kozlovskij for third in 1:40.99.
In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Missouri swimmers Ramom Melofinished second in 45.15 while Tierney came in third in 47.24. Melo also saw success in the 50 Yard Freestyle, placing first in 20.47.
Missouri swimmers kept with the trend and dominated the top three spots in the 200 Yard IM. Yaniv Shnaider finished first in 1:50.57, with Austin Fish placing second in 1:54.30, followed by Jason Kingin third with 1:54.31.
In the 200 Yard Butterfly, Tiger Mack Darraghtook first place for Mizzou in 1:48.12, setting a Breech Pool record in the process. His teammate O'Halloran placed second in 1:49.52. Missouri also took the first and second spot in the 200 Yard Backstroke. Sellers finished first with a time of 1:50.74, closely followed by Austin Fish in 1:51.24.
In the 500 Yard Freestyle Groome finished first in 4:30.14 while Nolan finished with an impressive exhibition time of 4:42.19. In the 200 Yard Breaststroke, Tierney finished first for the Tigers, notching a time of 2:00.37 with Darragh finishing third in 2:04.95. Tierney's time of 2:00.37 set a Breech Pool record.
In the final event of the meet, Mizzou placed first in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. The relay team of Hladik, Krause, Kozlovskij, and Melo recorded a time of 3:00.13 for a first place spot and set a Breech Pool record in the process. The team of Groome, Conroy, Stephen Sobczak, and Nolan also saw success, finishing third in 3:06.98.
In the diving pool, the Tigers dominated the Drury Panthers. David Bonuchi finished first in the 1 mtr diving event with 369.08 points while Mitch Harrisfinished third with 217.13 points. In the 3mtr Diving event Bonuchi also took first place with 368.18 points. Bonuchi's scores in both the 1 mtr diving event and the 3 mtr diving event set Breech Pool records.
