
Oklahoma State Edges Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo.- - After coming from behind to tie the game twice on Sunday, Mizzou lost to Oklahoma by a score of 4-3 in the finale game of a three-game series at Taylor Stadium. OSU's Dean Green led off the top of the ninth inning by connecting on his fourth home run of the season to break a 3-3 tie. Green was 3-for-4 on the day for the Cowboys.
Missouri (19-16, 4-8 Big 12) fell behind when OSU scored the game's first run in the top of the fourth inning, but tied it with a run in the fifth.
Oklahoma State (21-13, 5-7) regained the lead with two runs in the top of the sixth inning, as one run scored on a double by Kevin Chambers, his second RBI of the game, and another run scoring on a sacrifice fly from Dane Phillips. Chambers was 3-for-4 with two RBI and also picked up the win for the Cowboys as he pitched the final 1.2 innings in relief.
Mizzou answered OSU's two sixth-inning runs with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the sixth. Sophomore Ryan Gebhart singled to start the sixth and freshman Blake Brown walked. Gebhart would score on a sacrifice fly by senior Aaron Senne and Brown scored the tying run when junior Brett Nicholas reached on an error. The score remained tied until Green's homer in the ninth.
Gebhart, playing in his first game of the season after an ankle injury forced him to miss the first 34 games, was 2-for-4 with a run scored on the afternoon. Nicholas had a single to lead off the second inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.
Junior Brad Buehler allowed just one earned run in 5.1 innings pitched in his third start of the season. Buehler struck out two and gave up five hits.
Missouri will be at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday to take on Kansas. The game will start at 6:30 p.m.
