Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel
On battling back after two straight losses:
"Well they're always going to be a battle. I'm really proud of our team. We lost a couple of ball games and a great test of any football team is how you battle through adversity. We would have liked to finish a little better than we did, but it's a story of turnovers and how they change football games. We got our eighth win of the season and we feel good about that."
On the team's home success:
"We're undefeated at `The Zou' this year and that's a big, big thing. It's great for our fans and it's very important that this place is a tough place to play. I'm very excited that we ended up being undefeated here this year."
On the challenge Kansas State provided:
"It really was [a challenge], but we battled. Give them credit, they made some plays. Their quarterback and running back are great players that cause you a lot of problems. I think they really battled and did a good job."
On staying consistent:
"I thought we did a pretty good job and came back and battled after a tough week last week. We struggled so much at Texas Tech. It's about consistency, and I really think turnovers were huge in this game.
On the turnover margin:
"It's a game changer if you can get that on your side. They were big plays - the stop at the end of the half and we also had one returned for a touchdown. Jacquies (Smith) did a great job after Aldon (Smith) knocked the ball out. We also had some good field position turnovers too, so we're really proud of that.
On Kansas State's use of two quarterbacks:
"Some people switch tailbacks and wide receivers, he (Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder) switches quarterbacks. He's such a great coach so who's going to argue with him? I thought both of them did a good job and made some plays. The key is to get them in long yardage situations but they threw the ball well, particularly at the end of the second quarter and in the fourth quarter when they made a game out of it.

MU Player Quotes
Senior C Tim Barnes
On his last game of the season...
"It feels good to get a victory. It's my last game at Mizzou and it means a lot to me and to all of these guys. I am going to miss this place a lot. I think I played well, all of these guys played well and did a really good job. We had an overall pretty good day."
On his outlook for the next few games...
"After the last couple weeks we were hungry for a win, so it feels good to feed that hunger today. I know that the fans were excited to get a victory just as we were. We are proud of the way we played at home, so now we just have to go out and finish the rest of our season."
Sophomore DE Aldon Smith
On his injury...
"I am most definitely coming back. I am getting back to my old self."
On the importance of today's victory...
"Yeah I think we needed a victory, we hit a stumble a couple weeks ago, but we are getting back on track and going to get going."
On home winning streak...
"I think it's really important for the players, recruits and the fans. It's good for the town too, and for the seniors to end with a win. It's been good to have a good winning streak at home."
Junior DE Jacquies Smith
On the fumble he returned for a touchdown...
"It was great. It started up front. Getting the sack caused that fumble. I just had the mindset to pick it up and score. Running into the end zone brings back memories."
On halftime changes...
"We adjusted a little bit. We talked about some things they were doing to us, like us enabling them to go down the field. Our defense came back out and played great."
On protecting our home turf...
"It's always great to send our seniors out with a win. It was great that we have a good home field advantage, and to be undefeated at Mizzou."
Sophomore WR T.J. Moe
On today's win...
"The win was good for our seniors, because you never want to send a senior class out with a loss. It's good to get us back on track, and when we start having fun that's the biggest thing. When everyone's out there having a good time that's the most important thing. We finished out well this year being undefeated at Mizzou. It was a season well accomplished."
On first touchdown of the game...
"I knew I was in, even when the coaches were telling me to get back on the line. I kind of walked around to give them time to review the play. It was pretty good to jump start us a little bit, and we have been working on that play a lot. It was good it worked out. If I hadn't fumbled the second one I may have scored then too."
On movement after catches...
"I try to use my quickness, and use that momentum against them. A lot of these guys on defense are great athletes, bigger, faster and stronger so if I can just fly by I can use that against them."

On the turnovers:
"I think the turnovers and one penalty that we had made the difference in the ball game. If I did the math correctly, I think that the turnovers had a direct result of seventeen points, and seventeen points makes a big difference."
On the effect of switching out the quarterbacks:
"If we didn't switch them out, and I haven't looked to see how many three-and-outs we had, but it's probably more in the first half than we wanted. I don't think it had anything to do with the quarterbacks. Each of them made mistakes, but I don't think it had anything to do with rhythm because they both did some good things. I will have to watch game tapes, but if we have to switch them out we will, but if we don't have to we won't. I have said so many times that, yes, if I had my preference it would be a single guy, but both are positive guys who contribute to our football team. Both of them will continue to play, but to what degree remains unforeseen. "
On the effort and execution of the team:
"We made some horrendous mistakes in the ball game that were very, very costly on both sides of the ball. I can't say that the effort was inappropriate, I thought our players gave appropriate effort during the course of the ball game. They had opportunities to cash it in at one point in time in the second half, but I didn't see that happen. I thought our defense played extremely well when you consider the fact that they had the quick turnover, quick turnaround, sudden-change type of thing that we talk about all the time and came on the field and really didn't give up during that period of time. They gave up probably three points in the second half anyways, with the turnovers, so I think that effort was good."

QB Carson Coffman: On the fumble at the end of the first half
"It all happened so fast, I can't really remember, but looking back on it, I just tried to get out of there too quick. If we could've had that, it would've been tied going into the half and we lost the momentum after that. We got to put it behind us, but at the same time we never really quite really moved the ball the same after that."
On the situation of having two quarterbacks
"I felt good when I went out there, not like I was cold from standing on the sideline or anything but you know whatever is going to help our team win and Collin has been doing a great job and so whatever Coach Snyder thinks is going to be best for our team."QB Collin Klein:
On the timing of the quarterback changes
"I think it was a little bit of timing in the game, a little bit of what we needed at the time. I wasn't trying to think too much about that honestly, I was just waiting for my name to be called and do my best when it was."
On his performance
"I know I did some good things, the film will probably show that sometimes what I think was good wasn't the best so we'll just look at the film and just try and get better every week. I know I've done some things this game that I haven't done in the past that kind of made me grow a bit and again it's a process and it stinks across the board we didn't play well enough to win and we just got to get better."
On Carson's fumble at the one yard line
"That was a huge blow to our team, I felt for him I mean stuff like that happens and obviously none of us do that stuff on purpose. Mistakes happen and we just got to get those little mistakes corrected."
On if the team ever got into a rhythm
"I thought there were times. We had those two consecutive drives in the first half and unfortunately turned it all a little too late there in the end but we just made too many mistakes, credit Missouri, they're a good team and we just got to do better."RB Daniel Thomas
On if the team got into a rhythm
"No, we really didn't get into a rhythm until the last drive. We tied to put offense together but it was too late by then so we didn't get a rhythm at all."
On adapting to both quarterbacks
"It wasn't a problem, we just didn't execute and we turned the ball over too many times, that was the main thing."
