Senior outside hitter Paola Ampudia (Cali, Colombia) led Mizzou with 23 kills and posted her third-straight double-double with 13 digs. In fact, Mizzou out-dug Baylor - who is the nation's best digging team - 81-66 as five players posted double-digit dig totals for the third-straight match. The 81 digs in the match are a season-best for the Tigers.

Senior libero Caitlyn Vann (Muncie, Ind.) led Mizzou with 31 digs, three off of her career-best total (34 vs. St. John's in 2007). Ampudia was the next-best with 13 digs while both Julianna Klein (Keota, Iowa) and Priscilla Armendariz (Blue Springs, Mo.) added 11. Freshman Molly Kreklow (Delano, Minn.) added 10 digs to go along with her 43 assists for her third-straight double-double and her team-high seventh. Klein also posted a double-double in the win as she added 13 kills to go along with her 11 digs. Mizzou has now had three players with double-doubles in its last three matches.
"I thought we played really well and we did a nice job of staying on the attack and being aggressive," head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "The back row played well and got under a lot of balls back there, and that really helped us get a lot of swings. This was a nice way to end the first half of conference play."
Senior Catie Wilson (Omaha, Neb.) had her best match in her last seven as she posted 11 kills, one off of her season-best, on .292 hitting while pitching in a pair of blocks. Her .292 hitting percentage was second-best on the team as she trailed only Kreklow, who hit .667 with six kills on nine attacks. Kreklow's six kills are a career-best and it marks the first time this season that she has led the team in hitting.
Mizzou came out and took the first set, 25-18, behind a strong effort from Ampudia as she tallied six of her 23 kills in the first set on .385 hitting. The Tigers pulled in 20 digs in the set, eight of which came from Vann. The 20 digs were a big reason why the Tigers allowed Baylor to hit just .075 in the set.
The Tigers carried their momentum into the second set and Ampudia was once again the Tigers' go-to hitter. In fact, she tallied five more kills on .364 hitting as she guided Mizzou to a 25-20 set win. Kreklow spread 12 assists in the set and the Tiger back row collected 20 more digs. Klein also added four kills on 12 errorless swings in the set.
Mizzou came out sluggish in the third and hit just .118 as Baylor took the third, 25-22. But the Tigers rebounded and played their best set of the match in the fourth as they hit .312 with 16 kills while limiting Baylor to .029 hitting. Ampudia posted six more kills in the frame as she nearly out-killed the entire Baylor team, which had just eight in the set. Kreklow added 15 assists and Wilson posted five kills on six attacks without an error, helping Mizzou win the final frame, 25-15.
Mizzou has a bye next Wednesday, but it will be back in action next Saturday as it heads to Lincoln, Neb., for a match with the Huskers. For all the latest on Mizzou volleyball, stay tuned to MUTigers.com.
