Postgame Quotes
Mizzou Head Coach Mike Anderson
On forcing Georgia into 25 turnovers while committing only nine...
"Well we talked about a lot this week; in the last game we had 21 turnovers. I kind of harped on that a lot and got after the guys a little bit. I thought that we did a nice job of responding to that. What is even better is that we did it against a very good Georgia team from the SEC. I thought that our guys came to play - we moved the basketball well and I though (Laurence) Bowers did a great job in the first half."
On how the team rebounded the ball against Georgia's size...
"We did do a nice job of rebounding the ball, especially considering their size. We really were able to get the glass a lot on the offensive side and we really turned them over a lot on defense and we made the most of our defensive rebounding opportunities. I just thought that we had a really good effort of getting to the glass on both ends of the floor."
On the Tigers readiness to play in today's game...
"I thought that our guys brought a tremendous amount of energy in the first half and kept it throughout the game. We scored early and I thought that we made a lot of plays that came from that effort and that led to our run in the first half. One example of that effort is the way that we crashed the offensive boards. I think we had three offensive rebounds on one possession and that turns into extra points for your team."
On pushing the ball after an opposition's made basket...
"That is something that we talk about everyday; we want to play Tiger Basketball. I thought we did a great job of running and we made a lot of really great decisions with the basketball and it led to a lot of easy baskets for our team."
Georgia Head Coach Mark Fox
On Missouri's pressure...
"They're a very good pressing team. They have good length and we have a young backcourt. They're a pressing offense as well. Some things you have to learn the hard way, and we just had to try to keep organized and keep our poise. We lost our poise a little bit and we got routed."
On Missouri's quick style...
"They play a little bit differently than a lot of people do, but I think the thing is that they're just good at it. They play their style very well. I don't think that the different style is the issue. I think it's how well they do it."
