
Missouri Falls in Extra Innings to Baylor

WACO, Texas - - In its first extra inning game of the season, Missouri fell to No. 7 Baylor by a score of 8-7 in 11 innings. A single by Dustin Dickerson with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th inning drove home Chris Slater with the game-winning run.
The Tigers did not record an out in the bottom of the 11th inning, as Baylor loaded the bases with a walk, a fielders' choice and a single, before Dickerson's walk-off hit.
Mizzou out-hit the Bears in the game, totaling 14 hits. Freshman Conner Mach, junior Greg Folgia and sophomore Andrew Thigpen all had three-hit games. Junior Aaron Senne had a pair of hits, recording his fifth-straight multi-hit game.
Missouri (17-18, 6-8 Big 12) put up runs in each of the first three innings, building a 5-1 lead and chasing the Baylor starter, Logan Verrett, from the game.
The Tigers got three singles in the top of the first inning, along with a hit batter and a walk to put two runs on the board. Seniors Steve Gray and Kyle Mach accounted for the RBIs in the first inning as Gray delivered an RBI single and Mach drew a bases loaded walk.
Mizzou added an unearned run in the second inning and scored twice in the third on RBI hits from senior Ryan Lollis and Conner Mach.
Baylor (22-10, 8-6) scored its first run in the bottom of the first inning and pulled within one when Shaver Hansen connected on a three-run home run in the third inning. The Bears tied the game with a run in the fourth inning and went ahead on a two-run home run by Raynor Campbell in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Trailing by two in the top of the eighth, the Tigers got three-consecutive singles with the third coming from junior Greg Folgia to drive in two runs to tie the game at seven and eventually send the game to extra innings.
While MU falls to 0-1 in extra-inning games on the year, Baylor improved to 4-0 when playing extra innings this season.
