
Tigers Drop Game Two of Saturday Doubleheader

AUSTIN, Texas - - Missouri and Texas split a Saturday doubleheader in Austin, Texas after a 5-0 win by Texas in game two. That came after Missouri won the opener by a score of 2-0 behind a complete game from junior Kyle Gibson.
Mizzou (8-9, 1-1 Big 12) had just three hits in game two, all singles from juniors Aaron Senne, Michael Liberto and Greg Folgia.
The leadoff batter for Texas (13-2, 1-1), Travis Tucker, doubled and scored on a groundout by Brandon Belt in the first inning. After the leadoff double, junior Ian Berger retired the next nine batters to the plate before the Longhorns added a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Russell Moldenhauer.
Belt drove in another run with an RBI double in the sixth inning and Preston Clark singled to drive in Belt. The Longhorns added a run in the eighth inning.
Berger allowed four runs on four hits in five innings pitched.
The series finale between the Tigers and Longhorns is Sunday at 1 p.m. at Disch-Falk Field.
