Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel
Opening Statement:
"Our first team played really well and then we were able to get a lot of players a lot of playing time. And that's so valuable, we're so pleased that happened that way. There were a lot of things we did well and certainly as always things we need to improve...I was also proud watching SEMO, how hard they played, how they competed and stuck it out through to the end. That says a lot about their program."
On playing true freshman Quarterback Blaine Gabbert and Senior Quarterback Chase Patton:
"We said from day one we were going to let him compete. We felt we'd split both of them (Patton and Gabbert), if (Senior Quarterback) Chase (Daniel) was hurt. It won't change next week either. We'll let them compete and we'll go from there. That's valuable for both and I think that's the right thing to do for out football team."
On improving for next week:
"There are always things to improve on. You go back and there are a lot of little things you need to work on. That's part of preparation and evaluation. Whether you win by a bunch or lose by a bunch, there are always lessons."
On Senior Linebacker Brock Christopher wearing #25:
"He's a senior linebacker as A.O. (Aaron O'Neil) would be this year. (Injured Senior Linebacker) Steve Redmond would be the first to wear it because he was A.O.'s roommate. But they wanted another senior to wear it. Every week the captains will select a player to wear his number and represent A.O. in his senior year. We just think that's a great way of honoring him, not only for the fans and for the players but certainly to honor him for his family. The seniors came up with that idea and I think it was an excellent one."
On Sophomore Running Back Derrick Washington:
"He'll get a lot better too. He's just warming up, he's a talented guy, I've known him for quite some time. Again I said this last week but the experience of playing a year ago allows him to play at the level he's playing at right now. Getting the number of reps that he is, he'll continue to get better and better as a football player. He's got very, very good hands, he catches like a wide receiver or a tight end. He's a very strong powerful guy."

MU Player Quotes
Senior QB Chase Daniel
On tonight's performance:
"I thought we played a great ballgame tonight, exactly like we should. No disrespect to SEMO, but we felt like we came out here and did some good things against them and I think that for the most part, we did. We still have some little corrections to make but for the most part, I think we played really well."
Sophomore TB Derrick Washington
on catching the trick pass:
"I was sitting there waiting for a while. That was like the longest thing I had to wait for but when it came I got it. Trick play or not it is still football. We are just out there playing football. When I get the ball in my hands, I try to do something with it every time."
Sophomore WR Jeremy Maclin
on offensive production:
"I definitely a great feel for the guys. You always want to please the crowd and you want to please yourself and I felt that is something we did. We scored every time we touched the ball."
Freshman WR Jerrell Jackson
on having sideline fun:
"We had a lot of fun. We were trying to get the crowd into the game so our best players get us hyped up on the sidelines. By the time the score was at 42, I knew I was going to get a lot of playing time."

SEMO Head Coach Tony Samuel
Opening statement...
"Well, I didn't know what the score was going to be, but I knew we were going to be out-manned pretty much. I was more looking for the kids to play hard and execute and I thought they hung in there well. That's a great team we just played and they came out. Their offense is extremely fast and discipline and precise and they do a great job. Their defense, they're talented. We came out the way we expected to, but I thought our kids hung in there and that's going to springboard us into some better things."
On playing such a highly touted opponent...
"Any time you put 85 scholarships up against 63 and you put the number five or six team in the nation against us, that's a tough call. It is what it is, and if it was the NFL it would have been a pre-season game."
On Redshirt Freshman Quarterback Houston Lillard's play...
"This was his first playing as a Division I football player. We needed to see what he can do and I thought he handled himself extremely well out there."
On how the Redhawks will grow from its loss...
"We've got a major game next week. We've got a Thursday game on national T.V. and it's a conference opener at home. We've never had that before. That's what we take out of this. In my mind, like I mentioned, if we were in the NFL, this would be a pre-season game."
On Missouri's spread offense...
"They do a good job. We played against one (spread offense) last week and we're playing against one this week. That's the new thing anymore. This one (offense) is much more precise and the quarterback has been doing it for so long and he's really good at it."
On Missouri's first quarter touchdown in which Jeremy Maclin took the snap...
"They always run tricks. These guys do a great job of running their offense and making it look different every time. They gave us at least seven different looks from what we've seen on this year's film. So that's just what they do."

SEMO Player Quotes
WR Michael Williamson
On Mizzou as a team:
"We spotted them 21 points. We couldn't get anything going on offense and couldn't stop them on defense. In the second half, we moved the ball a lot but we couldn't punch it into the end zone. That is just a testament to how good of a team they are."
Playing in an atmosphere like Mizzou's:
"For me this is the last time to do something like this. I've done it in the past with places like Arkansas and Cincinnati, but it was a great time tonight in front of 60,000 loud fans."
Kendall Magana, CB
About the game in general:
"They had a little more talent than us obviously, but we executed a lot better in the second half and we are proud of that. We definitely showed that we had a lot of heart. We felt this got us ready for next week."
Eddie Calvin, CB
On Mizzou's offense:
"They got a great offense and they got into a great rhythm. Chase Daniel is a great quarterback and is surrounded by good receivers."
On the team's second half turnaround:
"Our defense showed up and got a couple three and outs. We just had to keep fighting and we knew we would make some progress."
