Tigers Fall in Finale with Oklahoma State

COLUMBIA, Mo. - - Junior Steve Gray hit his first two home runs as a Missouri Tiger on Sunday, but a two-run top of the seventh inning by Oklahoma State turned out the be the difference in an 8-6 OSU win in the series finale at Taylor Stadium. After a Mizzou win on Friday, OSU took the series with victories in the final two games of the weekend set.
Gray was 2-for-5 on the day, while sophomore Aaron Senne went 3-for-4 and senior Jacob Priday added two hits.
Each team scored runs in the first inning, as the Tigers answered a two-run top of the first by OSU with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Oklahoma State tied the game with a run in the third, but MU regained the one-run advantage when Gray led off the bottom of the fourth inning with his first home run at Mizzou.
Oklahoma State's Luis Flores connected on a three-run home run in the fifth inning to put the Cowboys in front, before MU pulled with in one on Gray's second homer of the day, as he once again led off an inning with a home run in the sixth. Junior Kyle Mach followed Gray by drawing a walk and later scored the tying run on an error by the Cowboys.
However, in top of the seventh, Oklahoma State scored twice, getting a sacrifice fly from Toby Davis and an RBI single from Rebel Ridling.
Missouri falls to 22-8 on the year and 5-4 in the Big 12 Conference, while Oklahoma State improves to 20-9 overall and 6-6 in league play.
Mizzou will step out of conference on Wednesday as it travels to Springfield, Mo. for a matchup with Missouri State at 7 p.m. at Hammons Field.
