Texas A&M Rallies to Defeat Missouri

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - - No. 6 Texas A&M rallied from seven runs behind, scoring eight times over the final four innings to take a 9-8 win over No. 4 Mizzou on Friday night at Olsen Field in College Station, Texas. The Aggies scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning, with the winning run crossing the plate on a bases loaded balk by MU.
After Texas A&M scored the game's first run, the Tigers scored eight over three innings to build a 8-1 lead heading to the bottom of the sixth inning. The Aggies then scored eight unanswered runs to win their 13-straight conference game.
Junior Aaron Crow struck out five, allowing five runs on six hits in six innings pitched, taking a no decision. It was Crow's first start of the year in which he did not pick up the victory.
Texas A&M scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning to take the early lead.
The Tigers put up eight runs over a three-inning span starting with a three-run fourth inning. All three runs in the fourth came with two outs in the inning. Junior Ryan Lollis doubled to drive in two runs to give Mizzou the lead. MU tacked on a run as Lollis scored on a single from sophomore Trevor Coleman.
Sophomore Aaron Senne led off the fifth inning with a single and senior Dan Pietroburgo followed with a double to drive in Senne to make it a three-run lead for the Tigers. The double was Pietroburgo's second hit of the night, extending his hitting steak to four games, which matches his career long.
Missouri (29-12, 9-7 Big 12) then scored four times in the sixth inning, getting the first run of the inning on a balk with sophomore Greg Folgia scoring from third. Senior Jacob Priday the doubled to drive in Lollis and Senne followed Priday by connecting on his ninth home run of the year, a two-run shot over the right field wall.
Texas A&M (35-7, 16-3) got a run in the bottom of the sixth, then added four runs in the top of the seventh to cut the Mizzou lead to two. Of the four runs in the seventh, two came on a two-run home run by Ryan Ruggiano.
The Aggies pulled to within one run, scoring a run in the eighth inning on a wild pitch. In the ninth, Texas A&M got an RBI double from Ruggiano to tie the game. Ben Feltner then was intentionally walked to load the bases and with Brodie Green at the plate, MU junior Ryan Allen was called for a balk, forcing in the game-winning run.
Game two of the series is Saturday with first pitch set for 2 p.m.
