
Tigers Fall to No. 13 K-State, 3-2

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri volleyball team (13-14, 7-10 Big 12) nearly upset No. 13 Kansas State on Wednesday evening as K-State squeaked out a 21-25, 25-19, 12-25, 25-20, 15-12 victory. Mizzou had leads of 19-16 in the fourth set and 10-7 in the fifth, but fell in both. Sophomore Julianna Klein (Keota, Iowa) notched 20 kills on the night, adding 16 digs, four blocks and an ace.
Junior Amanda Hantouli (Omaha, Neb.) accounted for 12 kills and a team-high six blocks for Mizzou. Junior Megan Wilson (Lincoln, Neb.) netted 11 kills and an ace.
Junior Lei Wang (Shanghai, China) spread 43 assists and added nine digs, an ace and five kills.
Sophomore Caitlyn Vann scooped 22 digs and added an ace. Freshman Annie Lopez (St. Louis, Mo.) added a season-high 20 digs.
Mizzou scored six aces on the night, with all six coming from different Tigers.
Kansas State was led by Rita Liliom's 22 kills.
Mizzou, with three matches left in the regular season, will travel to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor, Saturday, starting at 7 p.m.
