- This is the second time Missouri has faced Western Michigan. Missouri is now 2-0 all time against the Broncos.
Game Notes:
- Head Coach Gary Pinkel improved his record at Missouri to 40-35.
- Pinkel is now 5-2 in home openers.
- The Tigers finished with 619 total yards. This is the eighth time in Missouri history that the Tigers have had over 600 yards of total offense. The last time Missouri had over 600 yards of offense was on Sept. 3, 2005 when the Tigers racked up 657 against Arkansas St. in Kansas City.
- Missouri's 52 points were a season high and the most since the Tigers defeated Troy 52-21 on Sept. 17, 2005.
- Missouri had a 29 second scoring drive, a 52 second scoring drive and two other scoring drives of 1:04 seconds in the first half. Their longest scoring drive of the half was a six-play, 72 yard drive that took 2:05. The five scoring drives in the first half took a total of 5:34.
- Missouri's final scoring drive of 14 plays for 94 yards took 5:18, their longest scoring drive of the season.
- The Tigers finished with five rushing touchdowns, the last time Missouri had at least five rushing touchdowns was on Nov. 29, 2003 against Iowa State where the Tigers had six rushing touchdowns.
Notes:
- Tony Temple scored the first rushing touchdown of the season for Missouri on a one yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He had two rushing touchdowns on the day and finished with 96 yards rushing on 16 carries.
- Jeremy Maclin scored his first rushing touchdown of the season with a 17 yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Maclin finished with 52 yards rushing on six carries.
- Maclin tied a career high with seven receptions and had a career high 96 yards receiving. Maclin also had a receiving touchdown.
- Maclin had his most productive day to date with 275 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.
- With Chase Daniel's interception in the second quarter, Daniel's string of consecutive passes without an interception was broken at 254, a new Big 12 record. The Big 12 lists Reggie McNeal's 205 pass attempts in the 2004 season as the most consecutive passes without an interception.
- Daniel had his sixth consecutive 300 yard passing day with 328 yards on 27-46 passing.
- Chase Patton saw his first extensive action of his career today. He scored his first career touchdown as a Tiger on an 18 yard run in the fourth quarter. Patton finished 3-5 passing for 19 yards and had two rushes for 21 yards.
- Martin Rucker's 115 yards receiving is a career high. His previous career high was 102 yards at Kansas State in 2005. His 11 receptions is a career high as well. His previous high was 10 receptions in the season opener against Illinois.
- Tommy Saunders hauled in his first touchdown catch of the season. Saunders now has four career touchdowns.
- Freshman running back Derrick Washington saw his first action of the season. Washington finished with three carries for 12 yards.
- Chase Daniel's 39 yard run in the first quarter was his longest run of his career. His previous long was 25 yards against Ole Miss last year. Daniel also had a 35 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Daniel finished with 60 yards on five rushes.
- Jimmy Jackson had his most productive day of the season with three rushes for 26 yards.
- Missouri forced three turnovers with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
