Missouri Head Coach Cindy Stein
On Missouri's ball club:
"I won't give up on this team. I don't think they're going to quit. We'll make sure they don't quit. We've got tough teams in there, so we've just got to be ready."
"I have complete confidence in our team. We're better than our record, I think everyone knows that. We've just got to get out of the hole. We've got to rely on the maturity of our players. I believe in them, they believe in themselves. It's frustrating, and I've got to put them in a better position to win."
On Texas A&M's defensive pressure:
"Texas A&M is very good, they pressure everywhere. It took a little too long for us to adjust to the pressure."
On the come back in the second half:
"We played more aggressive in the second half. A&M is a tough team. There's an adjustment that's hard to make in practice. Once we did adjust, we were making plays and making good reads and doing good things. I felt like Tiffany Brooks led that charge the entire way. I think our kids followed her lead."
On Tiffany Brooks:
"Tiffany lead the team, the team followed her leadership"
On the team's record:
"We've got to get out of the hole, I believe in them and they believe in their selves"
Senior Guard Tiffany Brooks
"They were scrappy but in the second half we came back out with the attitude we were going to make the cuts."
Senior Center EeTisha Riddle
On if there is more pressure to make a basket in a tight game compared to a blowout:
"It's pressure, because we're fighting for a win, and we want to win so bad. Especially when we're tied, we think we can get this one. We used so much energy to get back into it ,and we fell apart at the end."
Texas A&M Head Coach Gary Blair
Opening comments:
"We could not have played any better in the first half. We were flat out tired in the second half. We were running out of gas in transition and the tempo (of the game) was bothering them. We felt like looking at their (Missouri's) stats, that they were a very good team, but they didn't block a lot of shots. When you look at our breakaways and denying the high post, that's the difference in the game. When you are on the road, when you can get 10 points that way, you feel very fortunate."
On Missouri and their comeback:
"I thought it was a tremendous comeback on their part. (Tiffany) Brooks is just a solid player and you will see her in the league (WNBA) next year. It was a big win for us. We have six games left and this was a key ball game for us. We needed this, because I know how talented Missouri is. This is a very good ball club who you don't want to see in the conference tournament."
Junior Guard A'Quonesia Franklin
On Missouri's comeback in the second half:
"In the first half, we came out with aggressiveness. In the second half, Missouri did. We didn't step up to what they brought to the table in the second half. During their run, we did not want to get down on ourselves. We just wanted to get one defensive stop."
"We don't want to get down on ourselves...We just wanted to set one defensive stop and we knew once we did that we could turn the tables."
Sophomore Guard Takia Starks
On Missouri's home crowd:
"We don't take any crowd lightly. When Missouri started coming back in the second half they got loud and it sounded like 5,000 people."
