Missouri Head Coach Mike Anderson Quotes
December 15, 2007
Opening Statement:
"Just coming off finals, you never know how your team is going to come out. I thought are guys came out with defensive minds. You probably didn't see that in the first few baskets that [McNeese St.] got with the two dunks. Our defense was a big indicator of what was going to take place in the game. There's a lot of balance in our basketball team. They're just coming off finals. We only had DeMarre Carroll in practice once or twice, Jason Horton was hurting a little bit, so we have some guys nicked up on top of finals, but then again I thought it was a good win for us against a [McNeese St.] team that plays a lot better than what took place tonight. I thought our defense had a lot to do with that."
On the 'Snow-Buggy' quote from the radio:
"You heard that? Snow-buggies, jet skis, snow skis, or whatever they call them. Just need people to come on out to the game. I'll tell you what, you can watch [the game] on TV, but that doesn't do any justice. When you come here to watch our team, its entertaining basketball. It's fun. I think our fans not only owe it to themselves, but I think to our guys as well. I think we're playing some good basketball."
On leaving in the starters for majority of the game:
"Well, we want to make sure that they go as long as they can before they get tired. You want to see them all get some quality minutes. In the first half, it was good to see that we got ten guys into the game. That means that were getting quality minutes. I think the reason was because of the mind set we had going in. I hope today we went in with the mind set of playing defense because the offense took care of itself."
