On the fans:
“I'm very happy for the fans. I'm very happy for their enthusiasm. Most of them wore gold which I was pleased with. We were a team effort there. That looked good on TV I'm sure. I don't know.
On quarterback play:
“It's Chase's birthday he turned 21 about ten minutes ago, and I was the first to wish him a happy birthday. The offensive line it shows that if you give him time and they did a great job of protecting for him and he'll be the first to tell you its the playmakers he's got around him, he's got a lot of guys. Danario Alexander comes back and looks at the impact play he made. He's got a lot of guys out there that make plays and sometimes I just sit there and shake my head. But it starts with the trigger guy and I don't know what else to say about him. I say so many things positive about the guy. He's a remarkable competitor and without a doubt one of the top three or four quarterbacks in the country, he has to be.”
On his team's focus:
“Our players were really focused. They were talking about pedaling down hill and turning it up. They were very focused for this football game. I was hoping we'd go out and play well. Our defense went out and got a stop and we went down and scored back-to-back touchdowns. One of the stories tonight was how good our defense played against a really good offensive football team. It was our best performance this year. I told you before that you'll be a lot better football team in October than you are in September. We are a lot better football team than we were three weeks ago.”

MU Player Quotes
Junior QB Chase Daniel
On the offensive game plan:
“We played our game on a number of facets. We had too many penalties, but you have to give credit to the coaches. They spent two weeks drawing up the game plan and we executed perfect. But it comes from up top, Coach C. (Christensen) and Coach Yost, Coach Pinkel got in it a little with week. They had an unbelievable game plan.”
On the great effort by the defense:
“I heard someone was talking that it was the first time since 1959 that Nebraska hasn't scored a touchdown in a game (against Missouri). It's unbelievable. That a tradition-rich school like Nebraska doesn't score a touchdown. That's a big story. If our defense plays like that week-in and week-out or even close to that and we keep putting up points, the sky's the limit.”
What's 'the sky's the limit' mean?
“It's as high as we can possibly go. I don't want to get ahead of myself. It's a great win for this program. Glad we could show ourselves out on ESPN, but we also have a tough Oklahoma team coming up.”
Freshman WR Jeremy Maclin
On QB Chase Daniel:
“He's a competitor. He's one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. We rally around him and when he's doing good, he's going to make us look good.”
On the defense:
They stepped up big time. This is the closest we've been to playing a complete game. There is still room to get better on both sides of the ball. I think right now we are just enjoying the win.
On the team atmosphere in the hotel on Friday night:
“We were in there watching the highlight film. Everybody just felt it. There were emotions. Tears being shed, it was a great environment to be around last night.”
Senior Safety Pig Brown
Playing well on prime time TV:
“It's huge. That's what we wanted to do and that's what we accomplished. Mizzou wants to be recognized as a top contender in the nation and if we play like that we know (we can be that).”

Nebraska Head Coach Bill Callahan
On Nebraska's 41-6 loss to Missouri:
“First off, we are very disappointed in the loss this evening, but we do credit Missouri for a fine effort. They're a very good ball club…we knew coming in that it was going to be a challenge for our football team. They certainly exemplify the ability to execute…they made the plays they needed to win the game…”
On starting 0-1 in Big 12 Conference play:
“It's not our standard of football…certainly we can play better. We are certainly not out of [the Big 12 North race]…it was a conference game that was important to us…anything can happen right now…”
On the play of Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel:
“He's an excellent quarterback…I had a chance to visit with him before the game and I told him I thought he was having a hell of a year…He has excellent control of what [Missouri] is trying to accomplish with their offense and that was pretty indicative tonight…”
On Missouri's fake field touchdown with the score 34-6:
“They did a good job with that fake field goal…That's none of my business if they want to run that play…Our business is to defend it.”Coach Pinkel | MU Players | NU Coach Bill Callahan
Marlon Lucky:
On not being able to convert on third downs:
“The defense just held us. They came out and played a great game. They got what they wanted.”
On the Big 12:
“It's an open run. A lot of teams lost today. Our next game is against Oklahoma St. We are going to work on that tomorrow.”
Linebacker Bo Ruud:
On Why They Couldn't Stop Missouri's Offense:
“They were hitting everything on third downs. And holding on the first and second and hit on those third downs. We just couldn't seem to get them off the field. They did a good job.”
On what to take away from Mizzou's offense:
“With them you have to take away the deep routes first. Make them throw it short and they were…and we weren't tackling when they threw it short and getting them down right away. That's what you've got to do. They were catching it short and getting the first down. We had to keep them from getting there once they caught it.”
Wide Receiver Nate Swift:
On how much the loss hurts:
“Well it hurts a lot. It's the first Big 12 North loss. They are a contender in the North, as all the teams are right now. It's just tough to lose to a North team. And last year we beat all the North teams. And this year it's tough to lose to a North team.”
On what would have been different in getting touchdowns instead of field goals:
“We felt coming out of the half that we were still in it. That we could still play with them. And come back on them….with us having the ball. And if we would have scored a couple of more points in the first half it would have been even closer. So that would have definitely helped us.”
