Freshman Lei Wang (
Na Yang and Nicole Wilson both added 11 kills each. Tatum Ailes led Mizzou with 11 digs.
In game one, neither team really gained much footing on each other as sideouts ruled the scoring early. Mizzou was able to gain a four-point advantage at 16-12 after a 4-1 run started by back-to-back Nicole Wilson kills. Tech would score 7 of the next 10 to tie at 19. A Yang kill and solo block in consecutive points gave the Tigers a two-point cushion that they would contain. A three-point streak capped by an Abbie Booth ace made the margin four once again at 28-24.
The game two score of 30-20 was actually closer than the frame actually produced. Mizzou was up early, leading at 10-3 and later led 16-6 and then 23-9 after scoring seven of eight off Tatum Ailes and Abbie Booth serving. The Tigers once again was efficient offensively, grabbing a .367 hitting percentage while holding Tech to .128. Vander Kooi scored six kills in the frame for Mizzou.
The Tigers gained control of game three early, running up a 22-10 lead, never allowing a consecutive point to Tech up to that point. Tech went on an 8-1 run to close within five at 23-18 and give Mizzou a scare. But, the Tigers would go on to score on seven of the next 12 rallies to take the game and the match.
