COLUMBIA, Mo. - - Mizzou fell to Oklahoma State by a score of 4-0 on Saturday at Taylor Stadium to even the series at one win a piece. The third and deciding game of the weekend set is Sunday at 1 p.m.
Oklahoma State had four players with multi-hit games on Saturday and Brae Wright pitched a five-hit shutout to lead the Cowboys to the win.
The first three batters of the game reached safely for Oklahoma State and two would score as Tyler Mach and Adam Carr each had RBI singles in the inning, giving the Cowboys the early 2-0 lead. They would add a run in the third, as Mach singled to open the inning, then scored on a single by Ty Wright.
OSU (23-13, 6-8 Big 12) added a fourth run in the top of the ninth inning, on a two-out home run by Matt Clarkson, his second homer of the season.
Missouri (18-19, 7-10 Big 12) had its lead off hitter reach safely in six of the nine innings, but was unable to drive any runners across the plate, grounding into five double plays in the game.
Sophomore Brock Bond was 2-for-4 against the Cowboys, with singles in the sixth and ninth innings. Sophomore Jacob Priday singled to lead off the seventh inning, extending his hitting streak to 14 games. The streak is the longest by a Tiger this season and is a career best for Priday.
Freshman Aaron Crow pitched seven innings in the start, which is his second longest outing of the season. Only an eight-inning stint against Wisconsin-Milwaukee on March 5 was longer. Crow struck out five on Saturday, while walking just one.
