
Mizzou Takes Down OSU, 9-2

COLUMBIA, Mo. - - Missouri sophomore Brock Bond hit his first career home run and junior Nathan Culp picked up his team-leading seventh win of the season, as the Tigers defeated Oklahoma State 9-2 in the opener of a three-game series on Friday night at Taylor Stadium.
After sophomore Evan Frey led off the Tigers half of the first inning with a single, Bond connected for a two-run home run to give MU the early 2-0 lead. Bond added an RBI double in the sixth inning, finishing 2-for-2 with three RBI and three runs scored.
Mizzou (18-18, 7-9 Big 12) also had a home run from sophomore Jacob Priday to lead off the fifth after the Tigers put up four runs in the fourth. MU had three hits, including a triple by junior Gary Ardnt and a three-run double by senior Zane Taylor in the fourth to take a commanding 6-0 lead.
The homer for Priday in the fifth inning was his fifth of the season and extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
MU would add two more runs in the sixth inning as Bond and Taylor teamed up for back-to-back RBI doubles. Taylor was 3-for-5 with the two doubles and four runs batted in on Friday.
Oklahoma State scored both of its runs in the sixth inning on a pair of solo home runs by Tyler Mach and Adam Carr.
Culp moved to 7-4 on the season, as he pitched eight innings, giving up just two runs on six hits and striking out seven. He retired the final six batters he faced, including three with strikeouts.
