
Missouri Falls to Sooners, 7-6

NORMAN, Okla. - - Missouri had three home runs and out-hit Oklahoma on Sunday, but for the second-straight day, the Sooners rallied in the ninth inning to defeat Missouri. The Sooners scored three runs in the ninth inning to take a 7-6 win over the Tigers.
Missouri has now dropped nine-straight games.
A pair of home runs by Mizzou (16-18, 6-9 Big 12), one by senior Derek Chambers in the first and one by sophomore Jacob Priday in the third, gave the Tigers a 4-0 lead. For Chambers it was his first homer of the season, while Priday now has four home runs on the season and 13 for his career.
Priday had an RBI in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. The 11-game streak matches the longest by a Tiger this season and is the longest hitting streak of Priday's career.

Freshman Rick Zagone, making his fourth start of the year, faced the minimum through the first three innings. He struck out the final two batters of the second inning and struck out the side in the third, fanning five straight. The first four of those strikeouts were looking.
The first Sooner hit was a double by Chuckie Caufield to lead off the fourth inning. Caufield would score the first of two Oklahoma runs in the inning to cut the Missouri lead in half.
OU (28-10, 8-4 Big 12) pulled with in one with a solo home run by Jackson Williams in the bottom of the fifth season and tied the game with a run in the sixth inning.
Missouri would get the lead back when junior Hunter Mense homered for the first time this season, connecting for a two-out, two-run shot in the top of the second inning.
In the ninth inning, Chuckie Caufield delivered a two-run home run and after Russell Raley doubled, Ryan Rohlinger singled to drive home Raley with the winning run.
Zagone struck out a career-best five in 4.2 innings on the mound. He allowed three runs -two earned- on just four hits and walked none.
This week, Mizzou will take on Saint Louis in the annual "Wood Bat Classic" Wednesday at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, Mo. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. Next weekend, The Tigers return to Taylor Stadium to take on Oklahoma State. That series will get underway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
