LINCOLN, Neb. - - Mizzou sophomore Max Scherzer recorded the team's first complete game this season, going the distance in a 2-1 win for No. 17 Missouri over No. 4 Nebraska on Friday night in Lincoln, Neb.

Mizzou (32-14, 12-7 Big 12), which had scored just one run in each of Scherzer's previous two starts, jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Junior Derek Chambers drove in both runs on a single to right, scoring junior Zane Taylor and sophomore Hunter Mense.
Scherzer faced the minimum through four innings, with the only NU hit in the first four frames being a single by Joe Simokaitis in the first inning. He was erased when Alex Gordon lined into a double play.
The first two Huskers were retired in the fifth inning, before two singles sandwiched around a walk produced the first Nebraska run. Trey Adams scored on a single by Jesse Boyer to cut the Missouri lead in half.
Scherzer struck out the side in the ninth inning and fanned the final four Nebraska batters in the game to seal the win.
