Brandi Doerschner, Robert Morris First Baseman
On facing Missouri
"I don't think we're that nervous. We're pretty much going to try to bounce back from this loss. It's hard, but our team gets along so well I know we'll stick together and try to play better tomorrow."
Craig Coleman, Robert Morris Head Coach
On first appearance in regional competition
"I think we have the first game under our belt. I don't think in any phase of the game today that we played the way we know we're capable of playing and have been for the past month. I feel confident that we're going to get our act together. We're going to give it our best to try and win that game tomorrow and stay alive."
On errors in game
"It affected our team a little bit, but it was probably more of a boost for Stanford."
On being the underdog
"Sometimes we catch teams a little of guard. Stanford sort of got put on notice that we were capable and that kept them from becoming to complacent."
On Danielle Cohen
"Both of our pitchers struggled with not matching up with the umpire's strike zone and we had a lot of walks. All in all I think they did okay, they struggled against the strike zone some. You fear that against such as good hitting team as Stanford that you're going to have shot after shot hit against you, but that didn't really happen."
John Rittman, Stanford Head Coach
On pitcher's first inning troubles
"You know she struggled at first. She had that single to left and that bunt single. But she was able to get out of it, and we were able to get her some runs to take some of the pressure off."
On Stanford manufacturing runs
"This time of the season, we need pitching, defense, and timely hitting. Looking at SIU and Missouri's offense, we'll need to manufacture runs because they both have very good offenses."
On SIU, Missouri offenses
"With them, we need to make sure we keep the ball in the ballpark. We need to make pitches, play defense, and keep their offenses at bay."
