Southern Illinois (35-18) plated another run in the fifth, as Nathan Emrick scored on a Tiger error, which was their third error on the night. Two more runs would score for the Salukis in the sixth, as P.J. Finigan connected on a two-run single to left field.
A pair of unearned runs in the eighth inning, as the Tigers committed two errors in the inning. SIU drew two walks and had just one hit in its half of the eighth.

Junior James Boone was the lone Tiger to record a multiple hit game, finishing 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. Junior Derek Chambers recorded the lone extra base hit for MU with a double in the second inning.
