Missouri Tops Kansas State 5-2

Columbia, Mo. -The #47 Missouri tennis team got back on track defeating the Kansas State Wildcats, 5-2. The victory improves Tigers to 13-5 on the season and 3-4 in league play.
Putting last weekend's loss behind them, Missouri hit the ground running taking the doubles point. The senior tandem of Katka Sevcikova and Carolyn overpowered Kansas State's duo of Maria Rosenberg and Tamar Kvaratskhelia, 8-3. The Tiger pair of Charlotte Bellis and Hana Kraftova also bolstered the Tiger effort defeating Tereza Prochazkova and Fernanda DeValle, 8-3.
In singles competition, Katka Sevcikova picked up a valuable point at No. 1 defeating Maria Rosenberg, 6-3, 7-6 (1 while No. 3 Yelena Olshanskaya came back from a 2-0 deficit in the third set to win the match 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. The Tigers switched up its lineup, playing newcomer Lubica Nadasska at No. 4 and sophomore Erika Josbena at No. 5. The switched proved to be a good move as Josbena defeated Judith Diaz in straight sets to clinch the team win. Senior Carolyn Kramer also bolstered the Tiger effort after losing the first set, 6-3 to Kansas State's Fernanda DeValle, she rallied to take the second set 6-4 and clinched the match winning the tiebreaker 10-6.
Missouri returns to the court tomorrow facing Big 12 rival, Kansas in the Missouri-Kansas Border Showdown. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., in the Green Tennis Center.
