
Mizzou Drops Second Straight Game to OSU

STILLWATER, Okla. - - Oklahoma State took a 6-4 win over No. 13 Mizzou on Saturday in Stillwater, Okla. to take a 2-0 lead in the series with the final game of the weekend to be played on Sunday. This will be the first series loss for the Tigers this season.
Missouri (27-8, 8-3 Big 12) has back-to-back losses for the third time this season.
Oklahoma State (26-14, 7-7 Big 12) scored the game's first run, putting a run across the plate in the bottom of the first inning, then putting together a three-run third inning to hold a 4-0 lead.
Mizzou got on the board as sophomore John McKee led off the fourth inning with his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot to cut the OSU lead to 4-1. McKee finished the day 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
The Tigers would cut the lead to one with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning. Freshman Jacob Priday had an RBI double in the inning and junior Greg O'Neiil drove in a run with a pinch-hit single, making it a 4-3 ballgame.
Steve Ptak extended the lead to three for the Cowboys with a two-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was the third home run hit by OSU this weekend.
Mizzou had the bases loaded with no outs in the in the eighth, but could only manage to score one run.
Sophomore left-hander Nathan Culp allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and took his first loss of the season, falling to 6-1. He struck out four and walked two.
Priday was 3-for-4 on the day with an RBI and a run scored and junior James Boone had two hits and scored once.
The Tigers and Cowboys will conclude the three-game series at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Following the weekend, MU take on Saint Louis in O'Fallon, Mo. in the annual "Wood Bat Classic" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
