
Missouri Extends Winning Streak to Nine

COLUMBIA, Mo. - - The Mizzou baseball team won its ninth straight game and completed its second series sweep with a 13-3 win over North Dakota State on Sunday at Taylor Stadium. The Tigers outscored the Bison 55-4 in the four games of the weekend series.
Missouri recorded double-digits in runs in the last nine games and 15 of the 21 games this season.
Freshman Jacob Priday got the Tigers on the board with a two-run single in the bottom of the first inning, driving in sophomore Hunter Mense and junior Derek Chambers.
North Dakota State answered with two runs in the top of the second inning.
Mizzou would retake the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second as a double by sophomore John McKee would drive in Chambers and senior Cosme Caballero.
NDSU cut into the lead with a run in the top half of the fourth, MU put two more runs with RBI singles from Priday and sophomore Gary Arndt.
Priday had two hits and drove in four runs in the game. Chambers drove in two runs and scored three times.
Mizzou added three runs in the bottom of the sixth, scoring all three runs without a hit. Five Tigers walked and one was hit by a pitch.
Junior Abel Newton allowed three run on five hits in four innings pitched, matching his longest outing of the year.
The Tigers return to the road this week with a trip to Normal, Ill. to face Illinois State at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. They will open up Big 12 Conference play next weekend with a three-game set against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. The first game of the series with KSU is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
