Head Coach Quin Snyder
Opening Statement
"I'm glad we won. We played great for the last five minutes. Our habits get better as the game goes on. Still not the team I see in practice. We gave up twenty-five points in ten minutes and shut them down for the last five."
On what were the keys to another close win...
"Horton had big, timely shots.  He still doesn't look me in the eye at certain times especially not in the huddle and he needs to start doing that so I know he knows.  We're very affected by one another.  If one guy is going, the team rallies and responds around that guy.  Thomas (
On the struggles of defending the glass early...
"They nine offensive rebounds to our eight defensive rebounds at halftime. We play teams that spread out, which gives them a running start to the basket to grab those balls. We have to get to the basket. Our guards need to start rebounding more too. I think they're all averaging just a little bit over one per game. That'll definitely help us get our transition game going."
On the scrappy play of
"I think Jimmy (
On playing
As much as they rely on Brown, McBride, and Augustine, our guys will be expected to step up and play well. We're good enough to beat them. We have to rebound, scrap, and defend well. Dee Brown just knows how to win. He can do it all. He makes them go. They think they can go undefeated in December, but they still have to come and play. It'll be a big night for us. We're very familiar with them and what they do. A very, very good team."
Furman Quotes
Head Coach Larry Davis
On today's loss:
"When you get a little tired and one team's a little more athletic than the other, the athleticism takes over at a certain point.  We did a good job of forcing Gardner off of his three after he made his two early, and that's something we wanted to do going into the game.  What we did not do a good job of was forcing him into the corners on the drive as opposed to driving into the middle.  When you let a guy drive into the middle and he misses those shots, usually the big guy is there to help and gets those boards.  Big (Kevin) Young is alone down there, and he isn't going to jump over buildings, but you're not going to move him out of there either.  When he gets in position, he has good hands."
On Missouri's shooting game:
"Missouri has a team that is very, very athletic.  They're a little reluctant as shooters right now because they're not real confident in their shot, other than Gardner.  We wanted to keep them on the outside, try to close and discourage.  Since they're not real confident with their shot, we didn't let them penetrate or get to the glass, so that caused them to struggle with their scoring a little bit."
On the game:
"We have been in a 'funk' as a team for about the last two weeks.  We played a non-Division I team last week, and in the second half began to come out of it.  I thought today we played extremely well, and I was pleased with how we played other than a few errors.  Towards the end of the game when it got a little close, as a coach, all I could ask was to get the kind of shots we got."
