
No. 17 Tennessee Stops No. 8 Tigers NCAA Tourney Run

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The No. 8-ranked Missouri women's volleyball team ended their historic 2005 season on Saturday, losing to No. 17 Tennessee in the regional final of the NCAA Championship. The Tigers (25-5) fell 30-28, 30-27, 25-30, 30-17. The Lady Vols (25-8) will move on to the NCAA's final round of four in San Antonio, Texas, next weekend. The Tigers made their first appearance in school history in the regionals, upsetting No. 6 Hawaii along the way.
The Lady Vols upset No. 2 Penn State on Friday night to reach today's regional final. They will make their first appearance in the final four in their school history.
Senior Lindsey Hunter (Papillion, Neb.) ended her Tiger career with 61 assists on the night, adding 11 digs and three service aces.
Another senior Lisa Boyd, led Mizzou with a season-high 18 kills. Junior Nicole Wilson and sophomore Na Yang added 15.
Hunter and Wilson were named to the Penn State Region All-Tournament team.
The historic season for the Tigers included a team-record winning percentage of .833 (25-5), a team-record 16 conference wins, a team-record seven wins over top-25 opponents, and, of course, their longest run in school history in the NCAA Tournament.
