
Missouri Closes Out Sweep of Cowboys

COLUMBIA, Mo.-- - The Missouri Tigers swept its first conference series since March of 2003, as they defeated Oklahoma State 7-3 in the final game of their three-game series. Mizzou finishes the regular season with a 34-20-1 record and a 12-14 Big 12 Conference mark and will be the seventh seed in the Big 12 Conference Tournament.
Senior Ryan Rallo led the Tigers at the plate on Sunday, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI. He had a home run, his 12th of the season, and a triple.
Rallo scored Mizzou's first run in the first inning when he tripled and was driven home on a double by senior Cody Ehlers. He also put the second run on the board with the homer, coming in the bottom of the third inning.
Sophomore James Boone hit his third home run of the year, a two-run shot well over the right field fence in the fourth inning.
The Tigers scored twice in the fifth inning, as they got a sacrifice flies from senior Jeremy Hernandez and Boone.
Freshman Gary Arndt, who finished the day 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored homered in the sixth for his second of the year.
On the mound, freshman Nathan Culp went 7.2 innings, allowing three runs of five hits and striking out six to take the win and move to 4-3 on the season.
The last Big 12 team that MU swept came last season when the Tigers recorded the sweep over Kansas State in Manhattan.
Missouri now prepares for the Big 12 Tournament which begins on Wednesday in Arlington, Texas. MU will face Oklahoma at 1 p.m. in Wednesday's opening round.
