
Mizzou Drops Finale with Baylor

COLUMBIA, Mo.-- - Mizzou dropped the series finale with Baylor on Sunday at Taylor Stadium by a final score of 9-6. Baylor takes the series win after losing the opener on Friday. Mizzou has lost two-of-three in each of its first two Big 12 Conference series.
The Tigers (21-8-1), took the early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. With the bases loaded, senior LF Ryan Rallo singled down the right field line to drive in sophomore 2B Zane Taylor who singled to lead off the inning. The second run of the inning came on a sacrifice fly by senior C Brad Flanders that drove in sophomore RF James Boone.
Baylor (12-9) cut the lead in half with a run in the top of the third inning and tied the game by adding run in the fourth on a solo home run by Josh Ford. The Bears then took the lead by putting a run across the plate in the fifth.
The Tigers regained the lead with a four-run bottom of the fifth inning. Senior DH Lee Laskowski connected for a one-out double that drove in two Mizzou runners. He would score on an RBI single by senior 1B Cody Ehlers. Rallo scored the fourth run of the inning when senior 3B Jeremy Hernandez drew a bases loaded walk.
Trailing 6-3, Baylor put five runs on the board in the top of the sixth inning. Four of the runs came on a two-out grand slam off of the bat of BU's Michael Griffin. The Bears would add a run in the eighth inning.
Missouri will step out of conference on Wednesday as it plays host to Saint Louis at 6:30 p.m. at Taylor Stadium. Tickets are available by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS or 884-PAWS in Columbia.
