
Tiger Baseball Drops Second Game to Aggies

COLLEGE STATION, Texas-- - The Tigers dropped their second game of the weekend to Texas A&M and its fourth straight overall, as the Aggies defeated Mizzou 7-1 on Saturday in College Station, Texas. The Tigers have scored just one run in the two games with Texas A&M and fall to 24-16-1 on the year and 4-10 in the Big 12 Conference.
Texas A&M scored a run in each of the first two innings, including a solo home run in by John Infante in the second inning.
The Aggie starter, Zach Jackson, retired the first seven Tigers to step to the plate before senior Jeremy Hernandez and freshman Gary Arndt had back-to-back singles in the top of the third, putting runners on the corners with one out. However, Jackson struck out the next two MU batters to get out of the inning.
The Texas A&M lead grew to 6-0 with a four-run fourth inning which started with a lead off home run by Cory Patton. It was the second straight day that Patton has led off an inning with a home run. The Aggies had added a double and a single in the inning and were aided by two MU errors. On the day, the Tigers tied a season high with four errors.
Missouri's only run of the game came in the top of the seventh inning. With one out, senior Kyle Johnson singled, advanced to second as junior Cosme Caballero walked and would score when Hernandez singled for the second time in the game.
Hernandez was 2-for-4 with the RBI and Caballero went 2-for-3 in the game.
