
Mizzou Baseball Evens Series with Youngstown State

COLUMBIA, Mo..-- - Junior RHP Erik Dessau remained perfect on the year, moving to 3-0 after Mizzou defeated Youngstown State 7-0 at Taylor Stadium on Saturday. Seniors Lee Laskowski and Ryan Rallo added home runs as the Tigers moved to 7-2 on the year.
Dessau, who allowed just three hits in seven innings, has gone at least six inning in each of his three starts this season and has only given up one run. He stuck out a career-high eight on Saturday and walked none.
Senior RHP Mark Alexander continues to be strong out of the bullpen, pitching the final two innings on Saturday. He allowed only one hit, struck out one and walked none.
Dessau's now has a season ERA of 0.45, while Alexander has a 0.93 mark.
Mizzou's bats, which were quiet in the series opener on Friday, came alive on Saturday as four of its eight hits went for extra bases. Laskowski and Rallo connected for homers in the third inning with Rallo's being a two-run shot.
Rallo was 1-for-2 on the day, walked twice, had three RBI and scored two runs.
The Tigers added a run in the fifth before scoring two more in the seventh. Junior 3B Cosme Caballero drove in a pair of runs on a single up the middle and finished with three RBI on the day.
