Columbia, Mo. - In a span of two hours, four Missouri swimmers were able to set personal bests and move themselves either into or up Missouri's all-time top-five time's list.
Leading off the women's 800 freestyle 'A' relay, senior Lizza Igoe set a personal best in her 200 yard section of the relay. Igoe's time of 1:51.45 moves her into fourth on the top-five list ahead of teammate and relay partner Lindsay Palbykin. As a whole, the relay team of Igoe, Palbykin, Lindsay Kraus and Andrea Nigh is now listed third in the all-time top-five times.
Following Igoe's example, junior Megan Morford led the 800 freestyle 'B' relay team with her own personal best in the 200 freestyle with the time of 1:56.44.
The women's 200 medley relay team of Sarah Lo, Ellen Borgo, Liz Schoborg and Andrea Nigh is now listed second in the top-five times with their final time of 1:43.82.
Leading off the men's 800 freestyle 'A' relay, freshman Jason Lyons' time of 1:39.56 is a personal best and ranks him fifth in Missouri's all-time top-five times. In the men's 800 freestyle 'B' relay, sophomore Dan Buhr set a new personal best in the 200 freestyle with his time of 1:43.47.
In the men's 200 medley relay, Missouri and Texas were disqualified due to early starts on the handoff.
After one day of competition the Missouri women are tied for fourth place with Iowa State with 58 points and the men are third behind #14 Texas A&M and #2 Texas.
