
Tiger Volleyball Sweeps Oklahoma

Missouri moved to 2-0 in the Big 12 Conference with a 3-0 (30-21, 30-25, 31-29) win over Oklahoma in front of 1,432 fans in the Hearnes Center on Saturday. With the win, the Tigers have now won seven straight over the Sooners.
After winning the first two games of the match, Mizzou found itself trailing 25-22 in game three. However, MU went on a 9-4 run to close out the game and take the match victory.
Mary Lauren Smith led Mizzou with 12 kills, followed by Lisa Boyd with 11 and Lindsey Noll with nine. Nicole Wilson had career-high .857 hitting percentage, while Noll recorded a .643 mark. As a team, Missouri hit .377 and held OU to a .273 percentage.
The crowd of 1.432 was the largest of the 2003 season and the 11th largest in MU volleyball history.
The Tigers moved to 9-2 on the year and 2-0 in the Big 12, while the Sooners fell to 8-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Next up for Missouri is another home Big 12 Conference battle, as Texas Tech comes to Columbia at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
