
Missouri Wins In-State Battle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Missouri volleyball team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 3-0 win over University of Missouri-Kansas City Wednesday.
The Tigers had little trouble with the Kangaroos, defeating UMKC 30-19 in game one, 30-14 in game two and 30-19 in the third to win the match.
Christi Myers led the Tiger offense with 13 kills followed by Shen Danru with 11. Jenny Duitsman had a hitting percentage of 1.000, with nine kills on nine attacks. Lindsey Hunter had 41 assist for Mizzou. As a team, MU hit .321. Chrissy Elder led Missouri in digs with 11 on the night.
The victory is win number fifty for Susan and Wayne Kreklow since arriving at Missouri in 2000. They now have record of 50-19 at MU and have an overall coaching record of 559-129, which is a winning percentage of .813.
This weekend Mizzou host the Quality Inn Tiger Invitational in the Hearnes Center. The Tigers will begin tournament play Friday against North Carolina at 11:30 a.m. and San Diego State at 7 p.m. On Saturday, MU will face Arkansas-Little Rock at 2 p.m. and Eastern Illinois in the last game of the tournament at 7 p.m.
