
Missouri, Texas Tech Split Twin Bill

LUBBOCK, Texas - Big innings were the key Sunday in the Big 12 Conference doubleheader between Missouri and Texas Tech at Dan Law Field.
After Texas Tech used two big innings to win game one, 13-6, the Tigers used a five-run ninth inning to win the nightcap, 7-1.
Game One - Texas Tech 13, Missouri 6
Two big innings powered Texas Tech to the win in game one. The Red Raiders scored four runs in the first inning and scored seven in the eighth.
The Red Raiders got a grand slam from shortstop Gera Alvarez in the first inning to take a quick 4-0 lead.
The Tigers got things going in the third inning with two outs. Jayce Tingler walked and scored on Ryan Rallo's double to left-center field. Rallo scored on a single to center field by Cody Ehlers. Jody Roughton doubled to the left-center field gap to put runners on second and third base. Lee Laskowski singled to center to score Ehlers and Roughton and tie the game, 4-4.
Missouri took a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning when Mick Weiss hit a one-out homer to right field. The home run was Weiss' third of the season in league play and fifth overall.
In the seventh, Texas Tech strung used three consecutive singles to score two runs and take a 6-5 lead.
Roughton, Laskowski and Weiss hit consecutive singles in the eighth but Missouri could only score one run and the the game, 6-6.
Texas Tech erupted for seven runs in its half of the inning, the big blow being a three-run by Nick Blankenship.
Game Two - Missouri 7, Texas Tech 1
Missouri got on the scoreboard first when Tingler walked, stole second base and scored on an infield out. The Red Raiders tied the score in the second inning after a double by Blankenship and a triple by Madison Edwards.
Luke Cassis led off the fifth inning with a double before he came around to score on a two-out single to left field by Tingler.
In the ninth inning, Laskowski led off the frame with a single. He scored on Weiss' double to right-center field. Laskowski's single extends his hit streak to 10 games. Cassis singled for his third hit of the game before Ryan Rothford singled. Tingler was walked intnetionally. The Tigers got five hits to score their five runs and took advantage of one Texas Tech error.
Garrett Broshuis picked up the win for Missouri.
The Tigers will play Southeast Missouri Tuesday in non-conference action at 6 p.m. at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
