
No. 21 Missouri Wins In-State Battle Over SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The No. 21 Missouri Tiger volleyball team made quick work of Southeast Missouri State on Thursday in Cape Girardeau, Mo., defeating the Otahkians 3-0 (30-18, 30-19, 30-16). The victory was the Tigers nineteenth of the season and its thirteenth three-game sweep.
Shen Danru led Mizzou with her thirteenth double-double of the year, finishing with a team-high fourteen kills and adding 10 digs. Christi Myers had 10 kills for MU. Lindsey Hunter, the Big 12 leader in assists per game, had 40 assists on Thursday.
The Tigers set a season-high in aces in a match with 15. Their previous best was 14 against San Diego State. Hunter and Jenny Duitsman set career highs with three aces each on the night. Juliana Godoi tied a career high with three aces.
Missouri has now won the last three meetings with the Otakians and are 11-1 in non-conference matches on the season.
The Tigers return to Big 12 Conference play on Saturday, as they travel to Norman, Okla. to face Oklahoma, who Mizzou defeated 3-0 on Oct. 12. MU then returns home on Wednesday to host Kansas State at 7 p.m. at the Hearnes Center.
