Men's Golf Finishes 13th at The Nelson

Stanford, Calif. - The University of Missouri men's golf squad competed in the final round of "The Nelson" golf invitational in Stanford, Calif., on Sunday. The Tigers finished the tourney tied for 13th place with fellow Big 12 conference member Colorado with a three-day total of 878. After shooting rounds of 292 and 296 the first two days, Mizzou registered its best outing of the weekend with a total of 290. Duke took the top spot in the tournament firing a final round 276 to finish with a score of 841 for the tournament. The Blue Devils were paced by tournament champion Leif Olson, who shot a 65 today to take the title.
Senior Chris Happ is was the top Tiger's top individual finisher in the tourney as he fired a final-round 73, which was two over par to take home 33rd place with a three round total of 218. Happ played some of the best golf of his season so far on Friday as he fired a fall-season personal best of 69 to open the tourney.
Senior Cory Ewert had a good final round rebounding from a 79 in Round 2 to fire a one-over par 72 in the final round to finish in a tie for 50th place. Right behind Ewert in a tie for 52nd were juniors Mike Radek and Brandon Knaub with three round totals of 223. Knaub poured in a final round of 72 while Radek posted a 73. David Jenkins wrapped up the Tiger scoring putting up a 75 in the final round and a three-round total of 224, good for a tie for 58th.
