
No. 22 Missouri Sweeps Past Kansas

The No. 22 ranked Missouri volleyball team made quick work of Kansas, defeating the Jayhawks 3-0 (30-22, 30-16, 30-24) on Saturday in front of a record crowd at the Hearnes Center. MU is now 17-3 on the season and 7-2 in the Big 12 Conference.
Missouri, after falling behind to start game one, went on a 13-2 run on its way to a 30-22 opening game victory. The Tigers then rolled in the second game, winning 30-16 behind a hitting percentage of .395 compared to KU's .031. Mizzou closed out the match with a 30-24 game three win to complete its twelth three-game sweep on the year.
Lindsey Hunter continues to lead the Big 12 Conferece in assists per game after recording 52 on Saturday and raising her average to 14.35 for the season. Shen Danru had her best match in several weeks, picking up 15 kills and hitting .286.
Lisa Morris, who is returning from an abdomen injury, finished with 13 kills and a .435 hitting percentage playing against her sister Lindsey, an outside hitter for KU. Lindsey recorded 2 kills for the Jayhawks.
Christi Myers and Mary Lauren Smith each totaled 11 kills. Sara Parks led MU in digs with 10 and Jenny Duitman led the team with eight blocks (one solo and seven block assists).
The crowd of 2,083 sets a new record for the largest crowd in Missouri history, passing the 2,009 fans that attended the MU game against Nebraska in 2000.
Next up for the Tigers is a trip to Manhattan, Kan. on Wednesday to face Kansas State at 7 p.m. before returning home for take on Texas next Saturday.
